Meet The Staff
Reid Jones
Reid is the owner and head trainer at Core Sound Retrievers. He grew up hunting on Core Sound and found his passion for dog training when he got his first puppy “Lady”. In training “Lady” to be his hunting companion Reid found a deep love for this career. He strived to train her to be the very best that she could be. He worked for many other trainers over the years collecting as much knowledge and experience he could. In 2019 Reid embarked on a mission to create something better, a kennel that was clean, safe, and successful. He started Core Sound Retrievers to be a business focused on the individual dog and not simply following an assembly line approach. Through his experience he knew that every dog learns differently and has specific needs. He designed his training approach to ensure that each dog is as successful as possible without risking their mental or physical wellbeing. He uses all his experience to adjust his training program to best match each dogs needs.
Ashley Domke
Ashley has always had a passion for animals. She worked as an emergency veterinary technician for 6 years before coming to Core Sound Retrievers full time. Her primary role is ensuring that the care for all dogs is to the highest of standards. She also oversees the breeding program and cares for all puppies and breeding dogs. When she is not caring for the dogs she also handles the day-to-day business and marketing allowing the trainers to focus on training without interruption.
Drake Daughtry
Drake has also loved hunting and retrievers. As he got older, he wanted to learn how to train his own dog to be the best she could be. He gained some experience with another trainer. As he learned more about training and what it takes to build a competitive retriever, he knew he wanted to learn better ways. He joined the Core Sound team in 2022 and has found his forever home. He has learned so much about the best ways to train and care for animals. Drake specializes in “young dog” training. He does all obedience and foundational yard work before dogs advance to the higher levels of training.
